About The Position

The Orthopedic Medical Assistant will work in our outpatient orthopedic clinic to provide support for the orthopedic surgeon and physician assistant. This role is responsible for rooming patients, answering phones, drawing up medications, pre‑charting for upcoming appointments, and monitoring incoming patient messages. Additional duties include preparing exam rooms and ensuring smooth patient flow. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with electronic health records are required. The position is primarily based in Greenville but includes travel to the Big Rapids clinic every third Friday. As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Successful completion of a competency-based medical assistant training program Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
  • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Required within 120 Days
  • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Required within 120 Days
  • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) Required within 120 Days
  • NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) Required within 120 Days
  • NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) Required within 120 Days

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
