About The Position

At Franciscan, our Medical Assistants are critical for supporting a variety of clinical duties for multiple ambulatory clinics. This role assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, executing physician orders for lab testing, entering information in electronic medical record system, and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers. Provide a more personal approach to direct patient care in a variety of outpatient settings, which may include: rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, document care of patient via electronic medical record, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider. Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide information via phone, electronic messaging and in person. Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed. QUALIFICATIONS Medical Assistant: Required High School Diploma/GED Program Medical Assisting or In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience-Required Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association Registered Medical Assistant through American Allied Health (AAMA) (AMT), (NAHP), (NCCT),(NHA)-Preferred or must obtain within 6 months of hire LPN: Required Associate's Degree Nursing / Patient Care Required Certificate Nursing / Patient Care 2 years Nursing/Patient Care Preferred Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - State Licensing Board TRAVEL IS REQUIRED: Never or Rarely EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER It is the policy of Franciscan Alliance to provide equal employment to its employees and qualified applicants for employment as otherwise required by an applicable local, state or Federal law. Requirements

  • Medical Assistant: Required High School Diploma/GED Program Medical Assisting or In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience-Required Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • LPN: Required Associate's Degree Nursing / Patient Care Required Certificate Nursing / Patient Care
