About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for general clinical and procedural patient care under the direction and supervision of the center’s physicians and/or providers. The Certified Medical Assistant works under the direct supervision of the physician and/or provider. A minimum patient base of 1,000 to 3,000 patients is served, and an average of 20 – 50 patients are seen each day. The Certified MA will assist providers with patient care that includes, but is not limited to; order entry, reporting, phone calls, clerical, and organizational tasks, and related duties.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent certificate required
• Medical Assistant Certification required
• Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant program required
• BLS certified at the time of employment, or within the first 3 months
• Ability to learn related center tasks and assist management and physicians
• Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and patient experience standards

Nice To Haves

• Experience in an ambulatory care environment preferred
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care including order entry and reporting
• Handle phone calls and clerical tasks
• Perform organizational tasks related to patient care
• Support management and physicians in related duties
