About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies.
• Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training facility.
• Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by a recognized certifying body.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification from AHA within 60 days of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• 1+ years of Clinical Experience.
• 1+ years of Healthcare Experience.

Responsibilities

• Properly prepares the examination and treatment areas per clinic standards.
• Completes patient rooming procedures including vital signs and data collection.
• Accurately administers and documents unit dose medications/immunizations according to clinic policy.
• Performs EKGs and laboratory testing as per CLIA license of the clinic.
• Ensures accurate, clear, and concise documentation in the patient record.
• May function as provider scribe after successful training.
• Completes assigned clerical activities and supply maintenance/ordering as directed.
• Assists with scheduling follow-up care/appointments as ordered/directed.
• Distributes pre-printed/pre-approved patient education materials.
• Directs all patient questions to provider or RN.
