About The Position

PeaceHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN Clinic - Family Practice for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $25.98 - $35.08 for MA and $27.77 - $41.67 for LPN Clinic. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. In collaboration with the healthcare team, assists physicians/providers in the delivery of patient care working within the scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant/Medical Office Assistant program, MA Apprenticeship program, or accredited State Board of Nursing LPN program.
  • Current Washington State MA certification or LPN licensure.
  • Unlicensed using graduate of a Medical Assistant or LPN program will also be considered.
  • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support.
  • Requires BART training (de-escalation training) within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic computer skills required including familiarity with MS Office applications.
  • Must have cooperative working and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of patients, families and staff.
  • Effective prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple clinical tasks at one time.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, flexible and able to function independently.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for examination and treatment or anesthesia interview as applicable.
  • Takes and records patient history and vital signs as applicable.
  • Prepares exam and/or treatment rooms; selects, sets up and maintains medical supplies and equipment for all examinations, procedures and/or anesthesia interview as applicable.
  • Collaborates with a variety of personnel and departments to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Gives injections, applies splints and dressings, and facilitates simple wound management under provider orders.
  • Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
  • May assist in scheduling patients for tests, initial and follow up appointments.
  • May maintain patient files, records, and other information including entry of data into electronic medical record.
  • May provide phone screening of patient to appropriate clinical staff and/or physician.
  • May transport specimens.
  • Performs environmental services, security assistance and emergency response duties as needed.
  • Requires BART training (de-escalation training) within 30 days of hire.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
