Requirements

• Training and/or experience as a Medical Assistant as defined by Arizona Title 9.
• Completion of an approved emergency medical assistant training program or military medical training.
• Current Emergency Medical Technician certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

• National Registry Certification for Emergency Medical Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Document appropriately in the electronic health record (EHR) including all interventions and interactions.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain a hygienic work environment.
• Stock and maintain medical supplies.
• Schedule appointments and conduct pre-authorizations for clinicians as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to meet patient needs and optimize outcomes.
• Communicate clearly with providers to ensure patient needs are met.
• Coordinate patient follow-up care as requested.
• Provide basic patient education as directed.
• Prepare patients for healthcare visits and assist medical providers during exams and procedures.
