About The Position

The ophthalmic assistant is responsible for rooming patients, prepping for in office procedures, performing history and medication reconciliation, obtaining surgery consents, completing patient correspondence, patient education, and maintaining patient exam rooms.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School or General Education diploma (GED)
  • Six (6) months in a customer service role
  • Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) from the State of Washington within 60 days of employment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to learn other software programs as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Ophthalmic or medical clinic experience
  • Willingness and ability to obtain certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)
  • Previous experience with EHR
