About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports physicians, Nurse Practitioners, RNs, and staff in coordinating the needs of patients. This role is essential in ensuring patient satisfaction by providing excellent patient services and addressing patients with a compassionate, friendly, and caring attitude. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for rooming patients, accurately collecting and recording patients’ vital statistics, allergies, medications, and concerns. Additionally, they will prepare exam rooms, stock and maintain supplies and equipment, keeping the rooms neat and clean. The Medical Assistant will assist with prescriptions and authorizing drug refill requests, triage messages, and relay information to staff, providers, and patients in a timely manner. Maintaining detailed notes in patients’ electronic records and upholding a high level of confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards is crucial. The role also includes backing up infusion room medical assistant duties and performing other assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited education institution.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) license.
  • Four years of work experience in venipuncture.
  • Must comply with OSHA, HIPAA, and office policies and protocols.
  • Knowledge of computer/telephony support, preferably in a health care environment.
  • Strong customer service background, preferably in health care environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Competence with computer processing functions and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to calmly and professionally resolve customer issues with diplomacy and tact.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Benefits

  • Pay range for this position is $21.00-$24.00 per hour.
