The Medical Assistant - On-Call position at the Community Health Centers of Benton and Linn Counties involves providing care and support in a dynamic team environment. This role is designed for those who enjoy variety and flexibility, as it covers vacations, sick call-ins, and vacant positions across multiple clinics. The clinics provide a full spectrum of primary care, dental, behavioral health, and public health services. The position requires working with health care providers to deliver primary care, including preparing patients for exams, recording health information, and performing administrative duties. The training schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for four to six weeks.

  • Prepare patients for physical exams.
  • Record health information.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens.
  • Conduct screening tests.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties related to patient care.
  • Support proactive patient care and care coordination.
  • Technical training beyond high school in Medical Assisting or a related field.
  • One year of work experience in a similar field (e.g., nursing assistant, home health aides).
  • Current State or Federally recognized medical assistant certification.
  • Training and skill to administer immunizations or willingness to learn.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Ability to drive and use a personal vehicle.
  • Experience in a patient-centered, team-based care delivery model.
  • Familiarity with diverse patient populations.
  • Mileage reimbursement per County policy.
