Responsibilities

• Perform administrative and clinical duties under the direct supervision of a medical provider.
• Assist with direct patient care in a clinical setting.
• Serve as a clinical liaison between physician and patient, and between physician and office staff.
• Promote communication among all care providers, patients, and office staff regarding the care plan for the patient.
• Attend to patients utilizing age-appropriate principles of growth and development.
• Take patients to rooms and greet them upon arrival.
• Obtain vital signs and assist with medical procedures.
• Schedule appointments and answer phones.
• Perform phlebotomy and clerical work, including obtaining lab specimens.
• Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) and perform billing and coding tasks.
• Calculate and administer medications and vaccinations.
• Complete Disability and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) paperwork.
