About The Position

The Toledo Clinic's Nephrology Office located in Perrysburg Ohio is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. This position will work in the Perrysburg and Toledo office with travel to other offices required as needed. Qualified candidates will have obtained the RMA/CMA/CCMA or be able to obtain such credential within 60 days of employment. The hours are Monday - Thursday (8:30-5:00) and Fridays (8:30-4:00).

Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

General Summary:
Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for physician(s), and performs various clerical duties.
Works under the supervision of the Office Manager

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal skills required.
• Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
• Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
• Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA,CCMA or RMA)
• Travel to different office locations is required.
• Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical medical assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
• Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
• Escorting patients to exam room.
• Preparing exam rooms.
• Preparing patient for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
• Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
• At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
• Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
• Follow up with lab work and/or xrays.
• Administering injections.
• Other duties as assigned.
