Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
Experience in a clinical setting, particularly in dermatology or surgical assistance is preferred.
Knowledge of Mohs surgery techniques and procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and the surgical team.
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and with discretion.
Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic office software.

Responsibilities

Assist during Mohs surgical procedures, ensuring proper setup and availability of instruments.
Prepare and position patients for procedures, taking vital signs and clearing medical history.
Maintain sterile techniques and assist with wound care and post-operative follow-ups.
Document patient interactions and maintain accurate medical records.
Provide patient education regarding post-operative care and recovery.
Manage scheduling and coordination of Mohs surgery appointments and follow-ups.
Ensure all surgical areas are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
