Job Title: Medical Assistant/Medical Assistant Apprentice - Plastic Surgery Cost Center: 301351252 Mfld-Plastic Surgery Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: Mon-Fri; day shifts (United States of America) Job Description: JOB SUMMARY The Certified Medical Assistant functions as an important member of the healthcare teams by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The individual performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health System’s (MCHS) mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Graduate of a Medical Assistant program OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) diploma OR applicable coursework to obtain license below. Preferred/Optional: None EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: None Preferred/Optional: Experience in healthcare. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire and one of the following: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification awarded by the American Association or Medical Assistants (AAMA) Registered Medical Assistant registration from the American Medical Technologist (AMT) Registered Medical Assistant registry from the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of Wisconsin or equivalent National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire. Requirements
