About The Position

The Medical Assistant (MA) position at Baylor Scott & White Health involves supporting healthcare delivery under the direction of a physician. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a medical assistant role.
• Medical assistant certification from an accredited program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and standards of safe medication administration.
• Ability to accurately document patient information and familiarity with HIPAA regulations.

• High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions from healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and clean them after procedures.
• Accompany patients from the waiting room and prepare them for examinations.
• Interview patients and record or input information into their medical records.
• Measure, collect, and record patients' vital signs and prepare them for examinations and tests.
• Perform routine patient testing, including electrocardiograms and specimen collection.
• Prepare and administer routine medications and injections as directed by the physician.
• Remove sutures and staples and change dressings as requested.
