Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant: Responsibilities Working under the supervision of the physicians and Clinic Supervisor, the Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting nursing staff and providers with patient care and other duties associated with efficient running of the clinic.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year in a medical office or hospital preferred.
- Current licensure Board of Certified Medical Assistants.
