This full-time Medical Assistant (MA) Scribe position is within the Dermatology department, focusing on supporting physicians and advance practice providers (APPs) in patient care and comprehensive medical record documentation. The role involves preparing patients for exams, obtaining vital signs, gathering and updating health information, and performing laboratory procedures using aseptic techniques. The MA Scribe will assist with various medical procedures and surgeries, administer routine medications under physician/APP orders, and provide basic patient instructions. A key responsibility is to enter the patient room with the physician/clinician to capture and transcribe medical record documentation in real time using electronic medical record applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness. This includes documenting physician/clinician communication, preparing orders for follow-up testing, labs, medications, consults, and referrals, and updating patient history. The position requires effective communication with patients and the healthcare team to ensure smooth clinic flow.
