Get to Know Your Team: Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology, and oncology services. Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant: The Medical Assistant Non-Certified provides superior patient care and performs administrative and delegated clinical tasks that support patients in a clinic-based environment as part of a care team led by the physician and/or advanced practice provider.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree.
  • Graduated from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.
  • Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care
  • Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
