About The Position

The position is for a full-time role in the Occupational Medicine department at Advocate Health, specifically at the AMG AHC Miller Parkway location. The job involves performing clinical staff functions, monitoring day-to-day operations in the occupational health program, and providing direction to staff. The hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, covering both clinics as needed. The pay range is between $22.50 and $37.30, with actual compensation based on qualifications and experience.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days.
  • GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
  • Advanced training beyond High School for LPN.
  • Completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant or 2 years of verifiable experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in an occupational health, urgent care, or emergency care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs clinical staff functions for the majority of the workday.
  • Monitors and coordinates the day-to-day operations in the occupational health program area(s).
  • Provides daily work direction to the staff and acts as an expert resource.
  • Assists in staff scheduling.
  • Orients and trains nursing staff on clinical competencies.
  • Monitors clinical staff for effective completion and adherence to nursing standards during patient care.
  • Assists with maintenance and editing of information databases.
  • Assists with monitoring and maintaining staff licenses, certifications, and documentation of training.
  • Responds to client needs and concerns from established occupational health accounts.
  • Facilitates customer service improvement activities.
  • Develops and implements processes for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.
