About The Position

Medical Assistant (MA) - Internal Medicine - Vernon Hills Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Medical Assistant (MA) - Internal Medicine Position Highlights: Position: Medical Assistant Location: Vernon Hills, IL Full Time/Part Time: Full Time Hours: 8am-4:30pm rotating evening and Saturdays Required Travel: Travel based upon department needs

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and escort them to exam room
Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
Provide front office support as needed
Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
Phlebotomy and injections may be required
