The position involves both front office and back office responsibilities in a medical setting. The front office staff must produce error-free batches and ensure the cash drawer balances with the electronic health record (EHR). Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety in the waiting room and reporting any safety concerns. Back office responsibilities include rooming patients, taking and documenting vital signs, assisting providers during medical exams, evaluating patients for immediate medical needs, performing accurate charting and assessments, administering medications, and maintaining cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and treatment areas.
