About The Position

The position at SLS Goppert Breast Center is responsible for assisting providers and the nursing team in the delivery of professional medical care. Specific duties include pre-visit planning, rooming patients, obtaining vitals, utilizing the EMR system, scanning and downloading of documents, administering injections, vaccine coordination, telephone screening (with protocols), phlebotomy, assisting with procedures as needed, and performing other duties as assigned based on respective clinic needs. The incumbent must have excellent customer service skills and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Additionally, the role may involve covering front office job duties as needed. In a Population Health setting, the position supports Physicians, Advance Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, and Community Health Workers with important operational and clinical tasks. Responsibilities include discussing with patients, families, and extended decision-makers the benefits of participation in Saint Luke’s At Home programs, assisting the Referral Specialist with coordinating patient scheduling via the EPIC platform, and scheduling urgent visits for providers. The role also requires managing the flow of patients, providing excellent customer service, establishing rapport with patients, and maintaining professionalism. Other tasks include conducting pre-visit plans prior to home visits, performing vitals and phlebotomy as needed, administering injections, coordinating vaccines, assisting providers with procedures, utilizing the EMR system, and completing various administrative tasks such as prior authorizations and RX refills.

Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Medical Assistant certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in geriatric or primary care.
  • Experience in institutional settings of care such as long-term care or skilled nursing facilities.
