Medical Assistant/LPN/EMT - Neurosurgery
About The Position
Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Medical Assistant to join our Neurosurgery team! Position Summary: Utilizing broad-based skills in basic patient care, ancillary services, and business office practices, aids providers in accordance with PNHS standard and policies. We are open to filling this position with an LPN, MA, or EMT. Requirements for each are outlined below: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) : Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing. Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required and maintained. Online BLS certification is not acceptable. Medical Assistant (MA) : Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by “The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required and maintained. Online BLS certification is not acceptable. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) : Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current MN EMT License. Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required and maintained. Online BLS certification is not acceptable. Work Schedule: 5 shifts per pay period; Monday - Friday, no weekends, 8-hour days
Requirements
- Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
- BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
- Strong clinical and human relations skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the AAMA.
- Basic computer/keyboarding/mouse skills required.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.
- Safely and effectively operate the following: Various Health Testing Equipment (depending upon specialty area), Personal Computer, Photocopier, Printer, FAX Machine, and Telephone.
