About The Position
The Medical Assistant II position at Covenant Medical Management, specifically within the Claiborne Primary Care department, is a full-time role requiring 80 hours per pay period on a day shift schedule. Covenant Medical Group, part of Covenant Health, employs over 300 top physicians and providers across various specialties in East Tennessee, including primary care, cardiology, and neurology, among others. This role is crucial in providing professional clinical care to patients in an outpatient setting, working under the supervision of the attending provider and the practice office manager. As a Medical Assistant II, you will be responsible for assessing patients' general conditions, taking vital signs, and assisting providers with examinations and diagnostic procedures. This includes performing phlebotomy, administering injections, and other typical office procedures. You will also be tasked with administering medications as per provider orders, ensuring that all dosages and documentation are accurate. The role requires you to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, manage medical equipment, and ensure that patient records are accurately documented and maintained. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Medical Assistant II will promote wellness by providing patient education and ensuring that test results are communicated to patients promptly. You will collaborate with physicians and other care team members to ensure comprehensive patient care, while also adhering to safety standards and participating in quality improvement initiatives. This position is integral to the smooth operation of the practice and the overall patient experience, requiring a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
