About The Position

OnPoint Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join the Lone Tree Family Practice team. This role involves assisting healthcare providers in the examination and treatment of patients, ensuring a high standard of care and patient satisfaction. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for patient intake, maintaining medical records, and supporting the overall operations of the practice.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited healthcare program (Medical Assistant, CNA, LPN, EMT) or equivalent work experience.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Strong computer skills and EMR experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Family or Pediatrics preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Nationally recognized as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Athenahealth practice management system.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and prepare them for healthcare visits by obtaining medical history and verifying information.
  • Document vital signs accurately and populate electronic medical records with patient information.
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatments, performing point of care tests as appropriate.
  • Maintain supplies in storage areas and exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
  • Conduct pre-visit planning and maintain logs for various checks (e.g., refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications).
  • Check and address voicemails and electronic medical record messages throughout the day.
  • Back up front office tasks including check-in, check-out, appointment scheduling, and answering phones.
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
