About The Position

The Medical Assistant Lead at Pediatric Associates is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations in small to medium-sized offices, ensuring quality patient care and supporting the Practice Manager. This role involves supervising Medical Assistants, maintaining high standards of patient experience, and assisting clinicians in the examination and treatment of pediatric patients.

Requirements

• Minimum High School diploma required; Bachelor of Science in General Medicine for foreign medical doctors.
• Minimum 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in a healthcare setting required.
• 2 years as a PA Medical Assistant preferred.
• MA Diploma/Certification required or equivalent experience.
• Active BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a pediatric healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in electronic health recordkeeping systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Practice Manager in overseeing daily clinical operations.
• Support the training, development, and competency evaluation of Medical Assistant staff.
• Monitor patient visit times and experiences, ensuring compliance with infection prevention programs.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels of clinical supplies and manage medication handling.
• Perform patient intake vitals and document findings accurately.
• Interview patients and update medical records with relevant information.
• Prepare patients for clinician examinations and ensure accurate documentation of clinician orders.
• Assist clinicians in various procedures and screenings under supervision.
• Perform vaccine and medication reconciliation and educate patients/parents prior to administration.
• Complete patient follow-ups and manage correspondence related to prescriptions and referrals.
