We really get to know our patients to ensure that they are receiving exceptional, personalized care in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant Lead to join our team, working Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of direct Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a primary care setting, and prior experience in a clinical leadership role. This position includes direct supervision of 12 Medical Assistants and plays a key role in fostering a supportive and efficient clinical environment. In this position, you will oversee and coordinate the daily schedules of the Medical Assistants, support the implementation of new workflows and processes, and ensure effective verbal and written communication across the team. Other primary responsibilities include reviewing charge reconciliation, assisting with vaccine coordination, and collaborating closely with the training team to support staff development. This role requires strong organizational skills, time management, and flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment. The MA Lead will also be expected to room patients as needed, while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach. The lead will interact regularly with leadership, staff, and other offices, and must be mindful of communication and shared workspace logistics. The role is a vital member of the care team, responsible for exercising appropriate leadership and oversight of clinical operations and Medical Assistant staff throughout the assigned site or department under the direction of the Practice Manager. In addition to performing the duties of a Medical Assistant, the position serves as a role model and resource for site staff. Acting as a liaison between the site-based clinical staff, the Practice Manager, and the Medical Director or Physicians. The Lead facilitates office-wide communication, coordinates new clinical initiatives, and addresses clinical issue resolutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience as a medical assistant, with demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks 3-5 years required

Responsibilities

  • Assists in complex office-based procedures and provides clinical oversight for quality control programs.
  • Provide leadership to the medical assisting team, including training, mentoring, and performance guidance.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring proper workload distribution and effective utilization of resources.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
  • Coordinate patient flow, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of care.
  • Assist with patient intake, including obtaining medical history, vital signs, and preparing patients for examination.
  • Participates in the interview process for new MAs and serves as a preceptor for new hires or students, supervising clinic support staff and creating coverage schedules for the MA team.
  • Assists with competency assessment for other MAs and provides input on performance evaluations.
