About The Position

Since 1970, Salud has been committed to providing a Medical Home to patients, where medical, dental, behavioral health services, and clinical pharmacists work together and coordinate efforts in a team-based system of care. The Medical Assistant Lead is a full-time position responsible for supervising the patient care team, performing medical support duties that optimize the patient experience. Additionally, the Lead will mentor and train staff, motivate, and enable their assigned area to deliver the most effective and efficient patient care. The Lead approaches their duties in a team-based fashion that supports patients and their families in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change. The medical practice is described as lively, treating patients with the utmost respect and concern for their physical, emotional, and mental well-being while instilling a fun and vibrant atmosphere.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (or required to complete certification/registration testing within 3 months of hire and be certified within 6 months of hire, maintaining certification throughout employment)

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program, a minimum of 6 months in length, preferred
  • Five years of experience working as a medical assistant preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the patient care team performing medical support duties that optimize the patient experience
  • Mentor and train staff
  • Motivate and enable their assigned area to deliver the most effective and efficient patient care
  • Approach duties in a team-based fashion that supports patients and their families in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change
  • Welcome patients as the first step in treatment prior to seeing the Doctor, NP, or PA
  • Determine the nature of the patient’s visit and obtain vitals
  • Provide thorough and concise chart documentation for clear necessary communication
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment for both patients and staff
