Requirements
- 5+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting.
- The Medical Assistant Lead is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
- Formal training which will probably be indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- CPR Certification.
- PC/Windows proficiency.
- Medical coding familiarity.
- Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
- Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.
Responsibilities
- Guide other Medical Assistants in their daily responsibilities, provide training, and communicate procedural and policy updates
- Act as a liaison between the department and the Office Manager
- Perform back office functions
- Assist the provider in the interviewing, examination and treatment of patients
- Measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (NextGen)
- Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team
