Responsibilities PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Interviews patient and records patient medical history and specific information related reason for visit. Prepares patient for examination by performing and recording preliminary vitals such as blood pressure, temperature, weight. Reports abnormal symptoms, unusual conditions or adverse reactions to physician. Measures and records accurate vital signs. Prepare exam and treatment rooms. Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, sterilizing instruments as needed. Assists physicians and nurses with physical examination and treatments, and performs surgical preps and simple dressing changes. Provides procedures and treatments as delegated by physician. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Graduate of Medical Assistant program or Graduate of a U.S. Military Medic course. In lieu of medical assistant program education or Military Medic course, equivalent clinical experience to completion of Medical Assistant program required. Expertise in ambulatory/physician office practice flow and activities; specialty specific disease processes and conditions; in-office procedures, and patient education. Current BLS card (CPR). Color vision acuity is required to safely perform the duties of this position if such duties are related to lab duties. All applicants must submit to and pass a Color-Acuity screening Test if such duties of this position are related to lab duties. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED Certified as Medical Assistant. Two years patient care experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting. Work Hours: 7:30am-3:30 pm

Requirements

  • Graduate of Medical Assistant program or Graduate of a U.S. Military Medic course.
  • In lieu of medical assistant program education or Military Medic course, equivalent clinical experience to completion of Medical Assistant program required.
  • Expertise in ambulatory/physician office practice flow and activities; specialty specific disease processes and conditions; in-office procedures, and patient education.
