About The Position

The position is for a full-time role in the GCMG Dilworth Family Medicine department, responsible for both direct and indirect patient care. The role includes maintaining productivity levels, providing clinical coverage, assisting in patient care activities, and serving as a liaison between patients and staff. The individual will manage daily team operations, staffing schedules, and ensure overall work standards are met. Responsibilities also include conducting audits, engaging in process improvement initiatives, and managing direct reports' training and performance. The position requires effective communication, customer service skills, and the ability to handle stressful situations. The individual will also be responsible for compliance with clinical standards and maintaining necessary certifications.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited healthcare program or one year experience in a related medical department.
  • One year DMC associate experience preferred.
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification or proof of graduation from an accredited school.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good PC skills; basic keyboarding and typing skills.
  • Strong clinical competencies and skills, including injections and vitals.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Technical expertise that matches the skills required for the department.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with EMR and/or scheduling systems.
  • Additional certification/training required by some specialty departments.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for direct and indirect patient care.
  • Maintains productivity levels as outlined in departmental standards and goals.
  • Provides clinical coverage as needed by patient volume or workflow.
  • Assists in direct patient care activities, including office procedures and triage.
  • Serves as an advocate and liaison between patients, staff, physicians, and external customers.
  • Coordinates staffing schedules and addresses staffing issues.
  • Carries out process audits to confirm maintenance of standard work.
  • Engages and encourages associates while executing process improvement initiatives.
  • Manages direct reports' orientation, training, and performance.
  • Conducts hiring, correction, and termination activities of direct reports.
  • Ensures compliance with annual competencies and clinical standards.
  • Conducts team meetings and ensures regular communication of clinic information.
  • Creates and maintains essential data and files for department reports.
  • Monitors and maintains an appropriate supply inventory.
