About The Position

As a Medical Assistant at Lakeside Breast Center, you will play a crucial role in providing both clinical and non-clinical support to physicians and licensed staff. Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience (2 years).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and record appropriate vital signs, identify abnormal values, and report findings to nursing staff or medical providers.
  • Assist with patient arrival, schedule appointments, and facilitate smooth patient exits from the clinic.
  • Recognize emergencies and respond appropriately according to organizational policy.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of clinic equipment, including preparation, testing for safety, and cleaning according to hospital policy.
  • Maintain linens, supplies, and equipment for clinic use, stocking exam rooms appropriately.
  • Collect, prepare, and secure laboratory specimens for testing or transport when necessary.
  • Document appropriately in the patient medical record according to established guidelines.
  • Navigate electronic medical records to obtain results, update patient data, and schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Prepare safety reports as directed by the clinic manager or designee.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in all interactions and documentation.
  • Consult with the clinic manager regarding activities, requirements, and problems.
  • Manage patient and co-worker complaints in a calm and positive manner, reporting these to the clinic manager.
  • Implement standard and transmission-based precautions as per hospital policy.
  • Ensure patient safety during clinic visits and report any safety hazards to the clinic manager.
  • Participate in clinic preparation by gathering clinical documentation and obtaining medical records.
