Medical Assistant Instructors
About The Position
Johnson College is currently seeking qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable working professionals who enjoy teaching to serve as a part-time Medical Assistant instructor for Johnson College's Workforce Advancement & Value-Added Education Program. This program prepares students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical aspects of a medical office. Functions include preparing patients for examination, treatment, routine laboratory procedures, pharmacology, and taking and documenting vital signs. Plus, students will learn the technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle. The WAVE Instructor teaches assigned non-credit classes in areas of expertise; develops, organizes, and presents course materials; teaches all scheduled classes for the time allotted; completes and submits a timely grade report; monitors student attendance; and assists students as appropriate.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of full-time industry expertise and/or work experience
- Appropriate education/training credentials pertinent to the course subject matter area

- Teaching experience with adult students
