Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant Educator to join our team. Under the direction of the LRMAI Director, the successful candidate will assist in the planning and development of medical assistant courses, ensuring that they meet specific objectives in accordance with the established curriculum and course syllabi. This role involves implementing specialized COVID-19 training based on the latest CDC guidelines, effectively organizing and presenting subject matter to students, and utilizing evidence-based, active teaching strategies to facilitate learning. The Medical Assistant Educator will also be responsible for objectively evaluating students' academic performance in various settings, including the classroom, laboratory, and clinical environments. In addition to teaching, the educator will perform ongoing assessments to identify students' learning needs and address them accordingly. A commitment to maintaining the highest level of professional and ethical academic standards is essential, as is the ability to monitor students' performance and provide immediate supervision during clinical training. The role also includes assisting in the coordination and supervision of clinical externships and maintaining comprehensive student records, including academic grades, attendance, and behavioral performance assessments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to cultural responsiveness and serving students from underserved or underrepresented populations, in alignment with the school's mission. Adherence to programmatic accrediting requirements is also a key responsibility of this position.
