About The Position

Part-Time Medical Assistant Instructor Location: Colorado Springs, CO | Campus: On-Site Hiring Range: $22.88 – $27.46 per hour Type: Part-Time (10 Hours/Week) Attention, Medical Assistants! Are you ready to trade the clinic for the classroom two nights a week? Share your expertise and shape the next generation of skilled Medical Assistants. If you are passionate about patient care, clinical procedures, and medical office mastery, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact without leaving your full-time role. Schedule: 10 hours per week (6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday). Please include your availability when applying.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program recognized by the USDE or CHEA. Exception: A minimum of three (3) years of job-related training and experience for instructors who are not graduates from an accredited program.
  • Occupational Experience: At least three (3) years of full-time practical experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Certification: Current CMA or RMA certification (unencumbered) or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Tech Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with online learning platforms.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior classroom teaching experience.
  • More than three years of practical Medical Assisting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Instructional Delivery: Design and deliver engaging lesson plans using diverse teaching methods to accommodate all learning styles.
  • Student Mentorship: Address academic or behavioral concerns and hold regular office hours to provide individualized support.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Evaluate and grade student work, assignments, and papers within a 72-hour window.
  • Curriculum Management: Regularly review and update course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and handouts.
  • Records & Compliance: Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, incident reports, and early alerts.
  • Real-World Connection: Organize guest speakers, field trips, and visits to medical facilities to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
  • Campus Engagement: Attend faculty meetings, advisory boards, graduations, and professional development workshops.
