About The Position

A Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health is responsible for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, addressing both acute and chronic needs. This role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care in a timely manner. The Medical Assistant functions under the supervision and licensure of a Physician or Advanced Practice Clinician, playing a vital role in the clinical team. The position is full-time, requiring 36 hours of work per week, typically structured as 12-hour shifts over three days, with the clinic operating seven days a week. This may include some weekend and holiday shifts, reflecting the commitment to patient care at all times. In this role, the Medical Assistant will perform a variety of tasks that include basic clerical duties, scheduling and coordinating appointments, maintaining medical records, and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies for patient care. Clinical responsibilities include conducting patient intake processes, administering screening tests, assisting providers during examinations and procedures, and providing patient education. The Medical Assistant is also expected to participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that the clinic operates efficiently and effectively.
