About The Position
The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking a patient centered 80% (32 hours a week) Medical Assistant II (MA II) to work at our UICC North Liberty Pediatrics Clinic. This position will mainly support our Pediatrics Clinics but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Pediatrics, Family Medicine, and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics. We provide care for pregnancy, baby wellness, vaccinations, school and athletic physicals, acute visits, annual check-ups, mental health, on-site laboratory services, and more. Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in the urgent care setting by coordinating all elements of the patient visit. Requirements
- Certification OR registration as a Medical Assistant OR completion of a recognized one-year Medical Assistant Program, OR Completion of a health care profession program with a curriculum incorporating elements of a Medical Assistant program including but not limited to: pathophysiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology and medication administration including dose calculation and psychology.
- Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
- Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.

- Ability to demonstrate teamwork, collaboration, and autonomy in all aspects of the role
- Previous phlebotomy experience
- Previous immunization experience
- Staff may be required to receive a passing score on work samples to be considered for this position
Responsibilities
- Staff will support our Family Medicine Clinic patients.
- Under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or registered nurse.
- Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting.
- Duties may involve the use of electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment.
