About The Position

Nemours is seeking a Medical Assistant (Perinatal Program), Full-time to join our Port St. Lucie Team Position Overview The Perinatal Medical Assistant supports healthcare providers, patients and other healthcare team members in our maternal-fetal medicine clinics. This role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate care for expectant mothers and their families throughout pregnancy, to include high- risk cases. The Perinatal Medical Assistant acts as a vital member of the healthcare team, promoting positive patient experience and supporting optimal maternal and fetal outcomes. The Perinatal Medical Assistant (MA) performs and assists with clinical procedures in accordance with divisional and departmental responsibilities as directed by the provider and per policy/ protocol with careful adherence to their defined scope of practice. The Perinatal MA acts as a resource and provides front desk cross coverage as needed, as well as serving as a coach, preceptor, and mentor to new/ float medical assistant associates.

Requirements

  • Requires 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks.
  • Certification required (see below) and MA school preferred.
  • Acceptable certifications are Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification within 90 days of hire date.
  • Ability to mentor and train new Medical Assistants.
