About The Position

The Medical Assistant Urgent Care is cross‑trained to perform a blend of administrative and clinical duties while working closely with providers, the office supervisor, and the practice manager. This role delivers professional, patient‑centered care in a fast‑paced outpatient environment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Medical Assisting In lieu of medical assistant program, 5 years of medical assistant experience is required
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • For an MA, you must have a certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Allied Health, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants, Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) - National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care in outpatient clinics—take vitals and histories, document visits, give vaccines and meds, draw blood, run tests, and help with medication reconciliation under supervision.
  • Receive and document requests from internal and external customers, and respond professionally by phone, electronic message, or in person.
