The Medical Assistant II (MAII) at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) plays a crucial role in providing both clinical and administrative support within the ambulatory surgical practices located in Danvers, Massachusetts. The MAII will utilize their established skills and experience to support the clinical team and enhance patient care in a fast-paced setting. The MAII will be involved in directing patient flow within the outpatient practice facility, ensuring that patients are efficiently moved between the reception area, clinical examination area, and check-out. Responsibilities include scheduling surgical and non-surgical follow-up appointments, monitoring clinical messaging, and preparing procedure rooms for diagnostic procedures. The role also involves cleaning and preparing medical instruments for sterilization, assisting in various procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients. The MAII will work closely with the clinical team to ensure that all patient specimens are accurately prepared and that examination rooms are stocked with necessary medical supplies. In addition to administrative duties, the MAII will assist in specialized clinical procedures such as colorectal ultrasound, anorectal manometry, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and various minor surgical procedures. This includes preparing patients, assisting with imaging and biopsies, and ensuring compliance with infection control standards.
