Ambulatory Health Care Services

Responsible for assisting physicians and nursing staff with patient care in the orthopaedic Laurel office. Responsible for chart management and patient flow. Performs delegated medical tasks and may perform clerical duties. Where the electronic system is in use, this position will utilize the system as documented in the department and/or FPI standard operating procedure and process; and other duties as assigned.

  • Manage patient charts and flow
  • Perform delegated medical tasks
  • Utilize electronic systems as per standard operating procedures
  • Perform clerical duties as assigned
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Two to three years medical assisting and medical office experience
  • Medical Assistant certification required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program such as NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, NHA, AMT, etc.
  • Demonstrated skill in venipuncture
  • CPR certification is required
