About The Position

Medical Assistant - Float Pool Granger Medical Clinic has an immediate opening for an experienced full-time Medical Assistant Float. The position requires travel between various Granger locations ( mileage reimbursed ). Overview: Candidate will work closely with physicians and support staff to provide patient care including: telephone triage, insurance authorizations, recording of vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, etc.), administration of immunizations, phlebotomy, maintenance of exam rooms and filing. Schedule: Hours per week approximately 32 - 40. 40 Hours are not guaranteed for Full-time. Monday through Friday Flexible schedule for students. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to work experience, education, and/or skill level. Requirements

  • High School Graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Must be dependable, flexible, and multi-task oriented.
  • Must be able to read, communicate and write well in English.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with Physicians, clinic staff and patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
  • 2 years of Medical Office experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills able to communicate courteously and effectively to patients.
  • Enjoy working with people, being a team player and willing to help others with tasks.
  • Additional languages helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Record all demographic information necessary to contact patients and do prior authorization for medications and procedures.
  • Prepare patients for exams and supply the provider with all relevant information (lab results, vital signs, medications, allergies).
  • Communicate with patients regarding their appointment scheduling and other needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
