About The Position

The position is for a Medical Assistant in the GCMG Cotswold Family Medicine department, which is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week. The schedule is Monday to Friday, with shifts from either 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM. The role includes various responsibilities such as patient care, performing lab-related duties, and assisting providers with procedures. A sign-on bonus is available, and the pay range is between $22.50 and $33.75 per hour.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military training.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
  • Certification as a CMA or RMA by recognized national organizations.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification may be required in select areas.
  • Demonstrates professional practice advancement through professional governance or safety coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows all policies and procedures.
  • Performs rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings.
  • Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
  • Performs lab-related duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection, labeling, packing, and preparation of lab orders.
  • Completes Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved waived laboratory tests.
  • Administers medications and vaccines safely following the rights of medication administration.
  • Maintains a clean work environment ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned appropriately.
  • Ensures equipment and supplies are in working order and areas are appropriately stocked.
  • May assist with training and onboarding of other teammates.
  • Demonstrates effective and timely communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation.
