About The Position

This position is for a full-time Medical Assistant I at a high-volume practice in Montross, VA, with a Monday-Friday schedule. The role involves performing patient-centric tasks across all age groups, managing medical supplies and equipment, executing nursing procedures as directed by a clinician (excluding certain injections, IVs, and triage), and potentially assisting with lab duties. The Medical Assistant I will also contribute to quality assurance and control, participate in continuing education, and help ensure efficient patient flow. The employer, CVHS, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, making the position eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Nice To Haves

  • Certification achieved by passing a National exam from a program other than the MA school
  • One year’s experience in a health facility
  • Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks pertinent to age of patient (infancy to geriatric)
  • Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies; assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies.
  • Performs all nursing procedures (with the exception of certain injections, IVs and IV medications, triage) as directed by the clinician according to the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual.
  • May be assigned lab duties
  • Assists in quality assurance and control.
  • Participates in the continuing educational process.
  • Assists in the efficient flow of patients.
  • Attends work as scheduled.
