About The Position

At Premier Community HealthCare Group, a nonprofit FQHC serving Pasco and Hernando Counties, we are committed to providing accessible, high-quality care across many disciplines. We believe every person deserves compassionate, coordinated care and as a Medical Assistant on our team, you'll be a crucial part of delivering that mission across Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Women's Health, Behavioral Health, and Laboratory services. We are seeking a Medical Assistant who wants to: Contribute to patient-centered care across multiple service lines and locations Work collaboratively on a flexible care team that values adaptability, compassion, and mutual support Help deliver seamless, high-quality clinical coverage and support for diverse patient needs Make a tangible impact on health outcomes in our community by supporting Premier's mission of expanding access and care

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program (or EMT / Paramedic)
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience; 3 years strongly preferred (including pediatric and adult care)
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Epic) willingness to train and gain certification
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel between Premier sites as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with vaccine administration, lab draws, or medication refills
  • Prior exposure to multiple clinical disciplines (family medicine, behavioral health, OB/women's health)

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, take vitals, collect medical histories, and prepare them for provider visits
  • Assist clinicians in examinations and procedures across departments (e.g., women's health, behavioral health)
  • Document patient information accurately and timely in the EHR, ensuring smooth handoffs and visit flow
  • Manage exam room inventory, clean and disinfect rooms, and process instruments (including autoclave)
  • Collect and process lab specimens, label appropriately, and prepare them for testing
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and care teams
  • Partner with clinical leads and other MAs to improve workflows, suggest improvements, and meet performance goals
  • Support quality improvement, compliance, and community engagement aligned with Premier's mission
