Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Graduated from an accredited medical assisting program or licensed as an LPN in the state of Oregon (required)
- Certified as an MA through the AAMA, NCCT or AMT, or, if recently graduated from an accredited MA program--the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire date (required)
- CPR certification (required)
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in phlebotomy/injections strongly preferred
- Experience with Epic EMR a plus!
Responsibilities
- Work in close partnership with clinician(s) as an integral and valued member of the care team.
- Tee-up day by entering information from patient-completed forms into electronic medical record.
- Preload paper or outside records.
- Prepare patient information for clinician review prior to appointment
- Escort patients to exam rooms.
- Obtain history and perform initial assessment of vital signs-all while building rapport, helping people feel comfortable and setting the stage for a successful clinician visit
- Facilitate patient care by assuring clinician's orders are entered and follow-up occurs
- Collaborate with other departments to meet patient needs (scheduling, benefits, etc.)
- Model WHA's values and commitment to The Patient Experience
