About The Position

ChristianaCare is looking for a Medical Assistant I for our PrimaryCare office in Middletown, DE. The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians in the examination and treatment of patients with virtual and on-site appointments. To deliver quality patient care and to perform other clinical and clerical duties within the practice.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and supporting patients both virtually and on-site within the practice
  • Preparing patients for virtual visits
  • Performing point of care testing, injections, medication administration, and EKGs
  • Assisting clinicians with examinations and procedures
  • Preparing exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
  • Completing patient-specific paperwork
  • Ensuring EMR is up-to-date
  • Handling patient call backs
  • Sterilizing medical equipment
  • Handling prior authorizations, referrals, and medical refills
  • Scheduling tests, procedures, and surgeries
  • Performing quality control on POCT equipment
  • Providing documentation assistance
  • Performing clerical duties
  • Troubleshooting patient issues with video visits
  • Supporting patients in joining ChristianaCare's Patient Portal
