The Offsite Medical Assistant I provides clinical office support to Physicians & Surgeons and performs patient care and administrative duties necessary to deliver quality patient care. Responsibilities include fulfilling patient care responsibilities such as checking schedules and organizing patient flow, accompanying patients to exam/procedure rooms, assisting patients as needed with walking, transferring, dressing, collecting and processing specimens, and preparing for exams. The role also involves assisting physicians with various procedures, taking vital signs, relaying instructions to patients and families, and answering calls to provide pertinent information. Clerical responsibilities include sending and receiving patient medical records, obtaining lab/x-ray reports, completing forms and requisitions, and managing charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately. These responsibilities may be carried out using the electronic medical record (EMR) system or manually as necessary. The Medical Assistant enters orders into the EMR system or prepares prescription refill requests for physician review. Additional duties include inventory management of medical supplies, maintaining a safe work environment, and complying with legal regulations and personal protective equipment requirements.
