About The Position

Nemours is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Primary Care department. The MA is an important liaison between the patient/family, provider, and other care team members. The MA is responsible for coordinating patient flow by assisting in clinical data collection and review for patient intake, ensuring the appropriate information is available to the provider, and entering pertinent history in the medical record. The MA performs and assists with clinical procedures in accordance with divisional/department responsibilities as directed by the provider and per protocol. Medical Assistant position supports closing and requires evening shifts and availability between hours of 7:30am-7:00pm.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must obtain BLS through AHA within 90 days.
  • Completion of a certified Medical Assistant program or MA certification required.
  • Acceptable certifications include CMA, RMA, NCMA, and CCMA.
  • Basic clinical and administrative skills for Medical Assistant I.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant for Medical Assistant II.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks for Medical Assistant II.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant for Medical Assistant III.
  • Advanced clinical and administrative skills for Medical Assistant III.

  • Mentor and train new Medical Assistants for Medical Assistant II.
  • Involvement in quality improvement initiatives for Medical Assistant III.
  • Serves as a coach, preceptor, and mentor to new medical assistant associates for Medical Assistant III.

Responsibilities
