About The Position

The Medical Assistant at ProMedica functions as a vital team member within a patient-centric care delivery model, providing high-quality service and direct patient care under supervision. This role involves navigating multiple information technology platforms, preparing patients for visits, and ensuring a safe and efficient patient experience while adhering to clinical protocols and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to promote outstanding customer satisfaction and superior patient experience.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and problem-solve.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program at an accredited college or university.
• 1+ years of experience in direct patient care preferred.
• Applicable medical certification preferred (MA, EMT, STNA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Reports for scheduled shifts on time and in a professional manner.
• Works closely with the provider and leadership to improve the patient experience through daily care and clerical support.
• Prepares the patient for visits by taking vital signs, documenting, and entering orders in the EPIC system.
• Provides a safe patient experience by adhering to clinical protocols and reporting equipment malfunctions.
• Supports clerical office functions including calls, documentation, and scanning.
• Demonstrates clinical knowledge to answer and triage patient telephone calls.
• Maintains a superior customer experience through teamwork and professional communication.
• Collaborates with leadership to recommend changes for improving patient care quality and efficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned that support ProMedica's core values.
