Toledo Clinic's General Surgery Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA required) to provide both clinical and clerical support in a busy surgical office. The hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00-5:00. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

  • Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.)
  • Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.)
  • Escorting patients to exam room
  • Preparing exam rooms
  • Preparing patient for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.)
  • Sterilizing and preparing instruments
  • At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills
  • Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments
  • Follow up with lab work and/or xrays
  • Administering injections
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required
  • Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame
  • Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed
  • Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles
  • Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA)
  • Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required
  • Clinical medical assisting experience preferred
  • $2,000 Sign-On Bonus
  • $2,000 Retention Bonus after one year of service
